Owning your own business
I graduated from college with a BS degree in Economics with a minor in Computer Programming. With this combination of knowledge I was able to find a job as a programmer for a financial company in Santa Monica. It was a great job but when I got opportunity to buy a catering business, I left the finance firm after one year and started to run this catering business called House of Catering. I was always the type of person who liked to be busy. So the idea of working long hours didn't bother me. And I thought it was the best way to make lots of money. The Pros to owning a business: You have the chance (but not the guarantee) to make a lot more money than you can make working for someone else. You'll be your own boss and make the decisions that are crucial to your business' success or failure. You may be the boss of other people. You'll have job security: no one can fire you.
